Love it or hate it, Valentine’s day has made its way back around. And while you all may have different opinions on the holiday, hopefully you all feel the same way about Galentine’s day. A day which in my humble opinion is pretty awesome. How often do we celebrate our lady friends? Now we have a day that is dedicated to our gal pals and brunch is a must. Ha! Thanks Parks and Rec.
This year, I thought I would put together a Galentine’s party of my own to celebrate the special ladies in my life. I found the cutest red checkered plates from Mark & Graham and decided to pair them with my favorite lace trim Vietri dishes with some pink accents to create a Galentine’s dream brunch! I also found these great woven placemats at Sur La Table that I’ll get a ton of use out of this spring/summer. I love a great popping place setting and being able to mix and match different elements that I can use again later was right up my alley. I didn’t have a ton to splurge on the rest of the decor so I decided to make a obre-ish balloon arch and put together some flowers from central market to set our mood.
Brunch consisted of homemade waffles with Lee’s fried chicken and some donuts from River Oaks Donuts, which was of course great. But being able to share the morning with my gal pals and kickback to celebrate our friendship was even better. The last couple of months have been pretty overwhelming for me personally, so it was really nice to touch base with my ladies who are always there for me and a great reminder for me to be grateful for the roles they play in my life.
How do you plan on celebrating your ladies?
